Cheese Fondue Dinner

What could be lovelier than fondue by a burning fire on Valentine’s Day? This cheese fondue feast makes for the ultimate dinner. Whether you are making for two or the whole family, it’s sure to have everyone diving in!

INGREDIENTS

1 garlic clove, halved

1 pound Gruyère cheese, grated

1/2 pound Swiss cheese, grated

1 cup dry white wine

1 tablespoon

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

1 1/2 tablespoons bourbon

Freshly ground black pepper

METHOD

Rub the inside of a medium saucepan with the garlic clove, discard the garlic.

Combine the grated Gruyère and Swiss cheese with the wine, cornstarch, and lemon juice in the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the cheeses begin to melt, about 5 minutes.

Add bourbon and a generous pinch of pepper and cook, stirring gently, until creamy and smooth.

Serve immediately.
