The excitement of the new Savannah Arena in the West Canal District is building and, with nationally-renowned operators Oak View Group Facilities managing the arena, it will most definitely set the new standard for how our area experiences live entertainment and conducts business.

The state-of-the-art venue will feature breath-taking views of the Historic District and canal with direct access to the Savannah River. The 9,500-seat multi-purpose arena will host concerts, sporting events—including the new Savannah Hockey Team of the ECHL, family shows, trade shows, community functions, and other special attractions. “There will be something for everyone as we are working on a diverse lineup of entertainment and events. We expect to draw guests from across the Savannah Region, across the entire Lowcountry, and the Southeast corridor of the United States,” says Oak View Group Facilities’ Monty Jones, Jr., General Manager of the new arena. “We are actively working with our entertainment partner, Live Nation, to build a great calendar of live entertainers.” With regards to local flavor, the food and beverage partner, Delaware North, will bring in long-time Savannah culinary flare and partner with local eateries to showcase the history of this great culture of dining, sweet snacks, beverages, and desserts.

Featuring 12 beautiful luxury suites, 725 plush club seats with access to two high-end bars, loge seating, and a spacious party suite that can accommodate up to 75 guests for an event, the aesthetics will incorporate historical Savannah architecture into the design. “We think the new Savannah Arena will change the way business gets done in the region,” Monty adds. “Local corporations can conduct business meetings in their suites and reward and/or incentivize their employees. Our premium levels will be real game-changers for this market.”

“This will be a place to engage and connect with customers through branding opportunities here at the new Savannah Arena,” says Derek Goldfarb, who is leading the sales initiative. The new arena is looking for premium seating and sponsorship partners. Branding opportunities in the main entrance, concourse, concession stands, parking areas, VIP bars, restaurants, and throughout the arena are up for grab.

The team at Oak View Group (OVG) explains their attraction to this project “hit home” when they recognized how underserved this general area was in entertainment. “The City of Savannah’s goals are aligned with our goals at OVG, we want to ensure a great asset for the community and region,” Monty says.

The Savannah Professional Hockey Team is owned by Roo Hockey, LLC. “A Cold Front is Coming,” the team’s introductory promo campaign has already begun. They will begin set-up in Savannah immediately and plan to open a permanent business office here in July. Sports fans can already reserve seating for games and follow the fun on social media.

This new venue is exciting for Richmond Hill residents, too. No longer will we need to drive a great distance for big-name shows and professional sports games!
